Because of the rarity of finding this dish on gluten-free menus, Biscuits and Gravy are the most popular dish on the Cafe menu. This dish is also Lillie's favorite meal ever! Other popular items are her favorite bakery product called the Brookie; a brownie on the bottom with a chocolate chip cookie on top. The California Turkey Melt is their top-selling sandwich. When Lillie Danzer, the owner of New Day Gluten-free Bakery in Clayton, Missouri (near the heart of St. Louis Metro) told me that she has at least one or two criers a day, I was happy for her! Lillie, who was diagnosed with Celiac Disease just 5 years ago, had long wanted to own a food establishment, she said it was always her dram after seeing her Grandfather runs his restaurant for years before. In late 2016, Lillie got the opportunity to become an owner of New Day Gluten Free, she jumped at the chance and in January of 2017 the business opened in Clayton, MO.
