Kat Arthurs, Colorado

by Lori Miller

After working in the world of Investment Banking for eight years, Kat Arthurs was laid off from her position as Director of Special Events in 2007. During this down time, Kat went on a skiing trip to Beaver Creek with a life coach friend who asked her, "Kat what do you love to do?" Kat immediately replied with, "I think about food all the time." The friend then asked, "So why don't you do something with food?" The very next week Kat enrolled in the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, and her life changed forever.

After the six month Escoffier program, Chef Kat ran a meal delivery business, but after years of doing mass quantities of food delivery, she discovered it wasn't for her. She eventually closed the door, taking time to evaluate. Realizing that she wanted to work on a more personal level with clients, she opened her Personal Chef business and Boutique Catering.

Her goal is to continually provide creative, imaginative meals specific to what the client needs. Some clients are Celiacs, some have cancer, others live with health issues, but all are gluten-free and or Paleo. Kat prepares meals that are entirely organic and even orders grass-fed meats from California. She is overjoyed to see the changes in herself, her husband and her clients after transitioning to gluten-free or Paleo.

An avid world traveler, hiker, and gardener, she graduated at the top of her culinary class from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.
