The Silly Yak's review of Coco Bakes Sourdough Bread

by Katherine Harris

First, I think it is important to mention that not all bread is created equal- especially when it comes to gluten-free bread. When looking for new gluten-free products, I always look for something that is not just safe (I am a Celiac) but something that is healthy and nutritious for my body. Coco Bakes sourdough bread hit all of the checkpoints that I usually look for. It is gluten-free, organic, sprouted, fermented, sugar-free, yeast free, soy free and most importantly, each loaf is made with love, and care by Coco herself! Really what else could you want in a bread?

I just recently ordered my first loaf (I was lucky enough to get one on the first try as they sell out fast!) it was easy and showed up at my doorstep a few days later. I remember thinking just how beautiful it was when I opened it, like something you would see at a French bakery- but I can eat it! The bread itself is crunchy on the outside and soft inside. It turned out to be a perfect bread for bruschetta, grilled cheese, and avocado toast. It made the best Grilled Cheese I have had in probably ten years (since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease)! My fiancé still cannot believe it is gluten-free!

Coco Bakes sourdough is expensive, but created with high-quality ingredients, made the right way, and in my opinion, it is worth every penny. I appreciate the fact that I can support small business and the niche market food movement happening now. Finally, things are starting to be made the right way again. I am hooked. I can’t afford to eat it every day, but I will definitely be buying it again!
